Stepping or step-dancing is a form of percussive dance in which the participant’s entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word and hand claps.


Step 101

  • History of Step: Teens Step Up introduces its participants to “Step” by revealing the deep heritage behind the art form.

Step Practice

  • The majority of the participants’ time will be spent learning how to develop concepts and choreography for step exhibitions/competitions.

“Presidential Active Lifestyle Award”

  • Participants need to be active 60 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 6 – 8 weeks.
  • Participants need to focus on a “healthy eating” goal. There are eight choices in the challenge. Each week participants add a new goal while continuing with their previous goal.


Step Fitness

  • Each day’s session begins with Step Fitness. This combination of classic aerobics and new age stepping generates a complete body workout.

Step Clinics

“Stepping in the Right Direction” Clinic Series takes place one Saturday in the Fall and Spring seasons. The clinic focuses on Health, Nutrition, Fitness, Wellness and Team Building.
